Before becoming a vision educator, Nathan personally used this exact process to reverse his own myopia and astigmatism. Once he successfully improved his own vision, he spent over two years training under his vision teacher Dr. Jerriann Taber to become a certified Bates Method teacher and begin his own practice called Integral Eyesight Improvement.   1. How long will it take me to improve my vision naturally?
    That differs for each person. Everyone’s eyes and minds are unique, so it really depends on you. Typically people begin to experience the first initial changes and improvements within a few days or weeks of repeating the vision practices. Then it is a matter of continuing the vision routine regularly until the changes and improvements begin to last longer and become more noticeable and permanent. For some that phase takes weeks, for others it may take months or years. Factors to consider include your age, the strength of your glasses, the length you’ve worn glasses, your current occupation, your diet, your activity levels, and your emotional & psychological background.
  2. Are you an eye doctor?
    No. I am a certified Bates Method and Yoga teacher. I do not test or prescribe eyes, I simply offer eye education through guided instruction in and application of natural relaxation methods. The primary practice taught in this course, the Bates Method, was developed by the ophthalmologist, Dr. William H. Bates OD, who wrote the book Perfect Sight Without Glasses, published 11 years of Better Eyesight magazine editions, conducted over 40 years of medical research into natural approaches to eye care, and whose contributions to the field of vision science have assisted many thousands of people in preventing, reducing, and reversing many different kinds of vision problems.
  3. How much time do I need to put into this course?
    Each week 2 to 5 brand new training videos & audios get released, which usually take less than an hour total to complete. Part of the purpose of the course is to help you learn and maintain good vision habits 24/7, so in between the videos and the live classes, you also need to be establishing a daily vision routine. At the start of your vision practice, it is a good idea to set aside 15 to 45 minutes a day, either all at once or spaced out throughout the day, to devote to either doing vision enhancing practices or resting your eyes. One of my goals in this course is to show you how to make your entire life become your vision practice, so you can learn how to keep your eyes relaxed and focused all day and all night long, whether at school, at work, at home, or out on the town.
  4. What if I miss one of the biweekly live classes?
    That’s okay. Whether you have something big already planned that will make you miss a class or two, or you live in a different time zone that makes it difficult to tune into the live classes, you’ll still be able to watch the replays. I record all the live training classes and post the replays up on the course website for you to watch if you missed or you just want to watch again. Even if you’re not watching live, you can still submit your specific questions to me through the course forum or directly via email and I’ll read and answer them during the Q&A part of the live class.
  5. Why have I never heard of this before?
    Although the Bates Method has been around for over 100 years, the orthodox eye care field has kept it out of the mainstream. Your eye doctor has probably never mentioned this to you before because it may not be in their best interest to remove your need for glasses, with glasses sales as being one of their primary source of income. In addition to the commercial aspect, there exists an ideological issue too. Many orthodox eye care professionals not only ignore Dr. Bates’ proven research, but they often dismiss all natural alternatives to the conventional eye care model. Sometimes change comes slowly.
  6. Will I have to practice this forever?
    Not necessarily. The aim of this course is not necessarily to ‘strengthen’ your eyes or eye muscles, but rather ‘relax’ them. Unlike weightlifting where you begin to lose your results if you stop lifting weights, this form of vision training retrains the eye muscles to stay relaxed and function more normally and automatically. Once your eyes relearn how to see, they don’t really want to go back to seeing blurry. It’s like muscle memory. When your eyes learn how to stay relaxed, you start getting short flashes of clarity. Once your brain starts to figure out what works to bring more clarity, that simply becomes the new way you see all the time, 24/7. That being said, I still recommend you keep up some sort of simple maintenance practice every once in a while even after your vision improves. Think about it like brushing your teeth. Do you plan on doing that forever? Then start thinking about taking care of your eyes like you already take care of your teeth.
  7. What happens if something comes up and the course takes me longer than 3 months?
    Ideally, the course is designed to be completed in order, on time, with the group all together. But, life happens. Luckily, you’ll still be able to access all the course material even after the course completes. That way you can take your time and make your way through the material at your own pace.
  8. Can I schedule my bonus private session after the course?
    Yes, I usually recommend you schedule your first 30 minute bonus session within the first month of the course starting and your second 60 minute bonus session within three months after the course finishes so we can check in to see how your vision practice is continuing once the group course concludes.
